Discussion in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania – “Civic Responsibility in Business”
At the Discussion “Civic Responsibility in Business” Held in the Seimas, Public Opinion and Expert Insights Were Presented
At the discussion “Civic Responsibility in Business” held in the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, a public survey was presented showing that 62% of Lithuanian citizens consider civic-minded behaviour by businesses important, though only half are able to name concrete examples.
Experts discussed that civic responsibility in business goes beyond charity or crisis aid — it also means long-term responsibility toward the state. Minister of the Economy and Innovation, Lukas Savickas, emphasized that business leadership is increasingly important in times of uncertainty.
The event highlighted the need for more public recognition and discussion of civic-minded business practices.
The Lithuanian Defence and Security Industry Association (LGSPA) was represented at the event by Chief Adviser Vincas Jurgutis.
