€1 Million for the Development of Defence Innovations in Lithuania

The Ministry of the Economy and Innovation (EIMIN) plans to announce on April 10 a €1 million call for applications under the “Defence Innovation Vouchers” program. The aim is to promote the development of military and dual-use technologies.

The initiative is expected to strengthen collaboration between the defence industry and academic institutions, and to encourage the creation of innovative products addressing current challenges faced by the Lithuanian Armed Forces.

Funding will be focused on priority areas such as integrated remote-control solutions on land, in the air and at sea; technologies for detecting and neutralizing unmanned systems; solutions for soldier protection and tactical communication; and enhancing mobility under complex operational conditions.

Each defence innovation voucher will be worth €100,000. A total of 10 projects are expected to be funded. This measure was introduced for the first time last year and received as many as 39 applications.

The implementation of the call will be coordinated by the Innovation Agency.
