Giedrimas Jeglinskas aims to link military procurement with investments in the Lithuanian economy.
The Chair of the Seimas National Security and Defence Committee (NSDC), Giedrimas Jeglinskas, seeks to link military procurement with investments in the Lithuanian economy – a position we support. The purchase of 44 tanks, platforms, and simulators is beneficial in one key aspect: it strengthens our defensive capabilities and equips the division being established in Lithuania. However, what benefits does this procurement bring to Lithuania’s defense industry and economy? What steps must we take to ensure taxpayers' money stays in Lithuania? The NSDC Chair proposes that future procurements should plan in advance to include Lithuanian industry in the supply chain, ensuring that the servicing and repair of acquired equipment are carried out in Lithuania.
