We can no longer expect security – we must create it ourselves
The President of the United States made it clear: those who do not hold a strong card lose. This message resonates with Lithuania as well. We can no longer rely solely on allies and foreign-acquired weaponry. Lithuania can no longer be just an outstretched hand – we must become proactive and create our own security. This is an existential imperative.
What does this mean?
- Focusing resources on strengthening national defense capabilities,
- Engaging Lithuanian businesses in arms production,
- Ensuring that strategic supply chains remain in our own hands,
- Creating conditions for seamless investment in the defense sector,
- And, without a doubt, establishing a legal framework that fosters rather than hinders domestic production.
From developing cutting-edge technologies to expanding production chains – every step must be bold. Only relentless effort, a clear vision, and unwavering determination can ensure our long-term security and strategic resilience. Business and institutions must work together. Because those who rely solely on others for protection ultimately find themselves without it.
